Detail

  • A broken and worn pillar in the old Siva temple carries an inscription of the reign of Ganapati Deva. The inscription seems to record gifts of gadyanas, gold coins, and of land to the god Visvanatha, whom the rajaguru Visvesvara Sivacharya installed in Chandravalli. The name of the donor is lost.Epigraphia Telanganica 2023
  • An inscription at Khammampalli states that Visvesvara Sivacharya built a temple for the god Visvanatha at Chandravelli. He endowed the temple with money for its upkeep and worship, and he founded a matha in the name of the god. The Annual Report on Indian Epigraphy for 1958-59 notes that the Malkapuram inscription confirms these facts.Annual Report on Indian Epigraphy 1958-59Epigraphia Telanganica 2023
